Completed Projects

As Heron celebrates 50 years of operation, it can look back on a wide range of successful projects across New Zealand, Australia and the South Pacific.

In its first years of operation, Heron specialized in the construction of concrete structures such as large pump stations, bridges, culverts and large crib walls, and was at the forefront of trenchless technology or pipe thrusting.

In 1967 Heron Construction built its first dredge and with a 6” pump driven by a Fordson tractor and winches driven by hand, it was used undertake river works projects.

Our scope of works quickly expanded to include river works, river and harbour pipeline crossing, desedimentation works, marina dredging and port and harbour dredging projects throughout New Zealand and overseas.

Our current projects and clients include Port Capacity Project for Port of Melbourne Corporation, Corio Bay Channel Safety Improvement for Victorian Regional Channel Authority, Channel and Berth Dredging for Port of Napier, Waterfront Auckland and Perry Aggregates.
