Rosedale outfall pipeline at Mairangi Bay
The backhoe dredger Kimahia and tug Pacific way have just completed the excavation of the 2.1 km trench for the new Rosedale outfall pipeline at Mairangi Bay for McConnell Dowell Constructors Ltd and the North Shore City Council. Once the final length of pipeline is laid on the seabed by McConnell Dowell the dredger will commence the backfilling operation. Maintenance Dredging
A maintenance dredging contract has just been completed for the Port of Napier Ltd and for the Napier City Council in the Napier inner harbour. The work was done with the Combi barge equipped with Hitachi EX200-5 and ZX 330LC long reach excavators and the Thomson Towboats Ltd owned tug the Manukau. New Offshore Pipeline
The backhoe dredger Machiavelli and tug Kurutai have completed the excavation of the 2.5 km trench for the new offshore pipeline for McConnell Dowell Constructors Ltd and the Christchurch City Council. The equipment is currently on standby waiting for the final pipeline connection to be made. On completion the Kurutai will tow the Machiavelli from Lyttelton to Adelaide to commence the excavations for a 10,000 tonne shiplift being constructed by the Government of South Australia Maintenance Dredging Devonport
Maintenance dredging continues for the Ports of Auckland Ltd and at Devonport for the Naval Base with the soft sediments being stabilized with cement in the Pugmill and placed in the Fergusson reclamation.
